You know, I have a similar story although Mrs. Mockeridge, the librarian at the tiny library in Roseland, Florida realized that I WAS A GOOD READER and she hand-picked books for me out of the adult section and let me check them out.
She was and she is, one of my heroes. She thinks. And she thinks deeply.
