Such relief.
I'm still in my bathrobe and it's 2PM. We had clinic all day on Saturday and it was crowded with mommas and babies until 8PM. Dang, I was tired at the end of the night.
Snow is melting finally. Last night I made almond flour cookies and hosted a meditation circle in my living room as I do every Sunday night. Sweet.
I must go outside and see the winter sun, watery though it is.
Lost
Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you
Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you.
If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here.
No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows
Where you are. You must let it find you.

Poetry is a lifesaver in times like these. Thank you, too, for the William Stafford poem in a recent post. Two poems that have been with me for a long time.
I try never to be lost about what a tree or bush is doing. Never. Nature is my solace and my joy.
I am so glad that baby is here and fine. Bless, bless, bless.
Welcome to all the babies, the ones you help coming into the world and all the others.
Thank you for your work!
This poem is in tune with the two books I have been reading and I think you would love them too.
The Hidden life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben and The Overstory by Richard Powell - one is science and one is fiction loosely based on science.
And this is a short version in a ted talk:

You will look at trees in a completely new way.
Beautiful. Thank you.
