I leave the day after tomorrow. I'm still in bed in my tee-shirt.
I went and exchanged money yesterday. There's squatty guy with a white beard sitting behind bullet-proof glass in a downtown cubby. You hand him a wad of cash and he gives you a smaller wad of pounds.
My contractor and I talked about food of the UK. It's horrifying. Haggis is something you can eat in Scotland. Offal in a sheep's bladder? Yum. And don't ask for Scotch. Ask for whisky, duh, you're IN Scotland so of course, it's Scotch whisky. And that's whisky without an 'e'. Ireland has whiskey. No veggies, apparently. No greens, anyway. The beer or stout is warm. Expect fish and chips.
What do I do now? Make sure I have directions to all the airb&b places. Decide what clothes to wear. Look at the weather channel again for suggestions? Hot? Cold? Rain?

No, no, no! You will have fabulous vegan fresh food all over the place. Just step a bit off the touristy tracks and ask locals, young locals if need be. Don't rely on foreign guide books. I will never forget one of my daughter's boyfriends, an exchange student from NJ, who reportedly went to Pizza Land in Rome, because pizza and Italy ...
All will be well. Have a wonderful time. Hope it doesn't rain too much.
Dress for hot, cold and rain. Bring your vest tops and rain coat and boots and sandals.
Think layers.
There will be food of all sorts, no one will make you eat a haggis, and while deep fried food is plentiful, there are many options :)
I wish you were coming to Ireland too!
Thank you, both of you!!! I can relax. And layers, just like Seattle.
I'm returning so I can go to Ireland. Maybe next year??
XXX Beth your intrepid traveler
Oh, Beth. You are going to have the best good time. I can't wait for you to get there and start having it!

Oh, bon voyage dear Beth! I am so happy that the day is almost here and wish you happy travels. I think there's some good food to be had these days in the British Isles -- probably the ethnic stuff, for sure.
