His mother gave birth to him 9 years ago this very day. He had two parties today. I gave him a Swiss army knife. He's a boy with a knife. For whittling. Everyone needs a good knife.
I just read a story my son wrote about receiving a Swiss Army knife from me on his sixth birthday because my grandfather said that every boy needed a knife. Of course he cut the tip of his finger off. Well, not really. Sort of. He remembers it all fondly.
